Objectives:

1. Providing at least 100 days of legal unskilled manual work as a guaranteed employment in a FY to every household in rural areas as per demand.
2. Strengthening livelihood resource base of poor.
3. Strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions.

Funding Pattern:

1. Central Government- 100% wage cost for manual and unskilled labour, 75% of material cost including wages for semi skilled and skilled labour.
2. Rest 25% is borne by the State government.

• Right to get unemployment allowance in case employment is not provided within fifteen days of submitting the application or from the date when work is sought. It’s cost is taken up by State Government.
• GeoMGNREGA is a unique endeavour of the MoRD in association with National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), ISRO and National Informatics Centre for geotagging of assets created under MGNREGA.
